Bauer Bunnies
We raise show quality Champagne d' Argents and Mini lops. We live in Union Hill, IL (Kankakee County). Bauer Bunnies is made up of three brothers Keith, Mitchell, and Arthur. We are members of the ARBA, IRBA, Champagne d' Argent Rabbit Federation, and the Illinois Mini Lop Club. We are learning as we go. Feel free to look around the site.
2011 was a good show year for Bauer Bunnies. Keith won 4-H Grand Champion Single Fryer for Kankakee County. His meat pen was third overall. Not too bad for our first year in 4-H rabbits. Keith also got 4-H Best of Breed in Mini lops and all other purebreds (Champagnes don't have their own breed class). In the jr show, he got second place single fryer, Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex with his champagnes.
2012 was another GREAT year for Bauer Bunnies. Below the winners from the Kankakee Fair. This year the boys and our nephew Dylan had an opportunity to help a family in need with one of the rabbits. The boys donated the money that the Reserve Grand Champion Single Fryer would have made at the 4-H auction back to a family that just lost a 16 year old boy from drowning. The rabbit raised $4700 to help the family with his funeral expenses. We could not be any prouder of the boys than we are right now!!
2013 was another good year for Bauer Bunnies. Mitchell got Best In Show with his Sr Mini Lop buck at the Kankakee Fair's Jr show. Keith won Sr showmanship honors in 4-H.
